Dredging Experience
Fredonia
Reservoir Maintenance Dredging:
To recover active
storage volume lost to sedimentation the Village of Fredonia is performing
maintenance dredging at their water supply reservoir. Approximately
4,400 cubic yards of material is being removed annually over a ten years
period, recovering between 4 and 6 million gallons of active storage.
Staff at Tolman Engineering completed the permitting and dredging plan
for the project.
Vukote
Canals Dredging:
To regain depth
for recreational boat access in Vukote Canals, the Town of Busti completed
a dredging project to remove approximately 12,000 cubic yards of sediment.
The sediments were removed with the use of a hydraulic dredge and dewatered
with the use of a sedimentation basin. The dewater sediments were then
used as fill in the adjacent Vukote Park. Staff at Tolman Engineering
completed the permitting, dredging plan, design drawings, and contract
documents for the dredging project. After the dredging project was finished,
staff at Tolman Engineering also permitted and formed a plan for maintenance
dredging in Vukote Canals.
Cattaraugus
Inlet Maintenance Dredging:
Sediment was
removed from approximately 2,000 feet of channel between the Town of
Hanover boat launch and the Cattaraugus Creek Inlet to facilitate recreational
boat traffic. The dredging process removed approximately 9,000 cubic
yards of sediment and created a channel that was approximately 30 feet
wide by 6 feet deep. The sediment removed was placed in a sedimentation
basin and dewatered with the use of a dewatering screw. Staff at Tolman
Engineering completed the permitting, dredging plan, and design drawings
for the dredging project.
Crescent
Creek Dredging:
A mechanical
dredging process was used by the Village of Lakewood to remove sediments
accumulated at the mouth of Crescent Creek and regain boat access. The
sediments were removed during low water levels to minimize the impact
to the environment. The permitting and dredging plan was completed by
staff at Tolman Engineering.
