Tolman Engineering is a small professional engineering firm providing civil, municipal and federal engineering services. We were established in 2002 and currently have offices located in New York and Pennsylvania. The firm is owned and managed by Mr. Rex Tolman, P.E., a service disabled veteran. Mr. Tolman served in the United States Army as a surveyor for a period of seven years before pursuing a career in engineering. After obtaining Bachelors and Masters of Civil (Water Resources) Engineering degrees under the Veteran’s Administration vocational rehabilitation program he worked with several large national and international engineering consulting firms. Tolman Engineering was originally formed to serve the local Western New York client base and has expanded to include Pennsylvania and federal engineering markets.

Tolman Engineering is the engineer of choice for a large number of local municipalities, authorities and private developers. We are also a component of design teams that have been awarded several major federal contracts and have been prime engineer for a number of projects for U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. This has allowed us to successfully complete and gain vital experience on a wide range of projects. Our qualified staff is dedicated to quality and client satisfaction which has led to solid professional relationships and consistent repeat business with clients.

All engineering design projects are completed using advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, in either AutoCAD or Microstation format, whichever the client prefers. All civil works projects are completed using advanced three-dimensional software (InRoads) for design. Knowledgeable implementation of the software creates a very efficient environment that allows us to design, provide alternatives for review, and make changes while minimizing the man-hours required. This ultimately results in a better product while reducing subsequent costs to the client.
